Job Description

Our client is a nationally renowned mutual insurance company that works with specialized coverages that understands the risks that their clients face to protect their day-to-day business. They have over a century of experience providing property and casualty insurance products and services operating in over 40 states.  They are looking for a Sr Commercial Underwriter to join their team. 

Essential Functions:

• Select, grow and maintain a profitable book of business comprised of small to middle market accounts
• Develop and foster agency relationships
• Collaborate with marketing representatives to ensure agency receive superior customer service
• Coordinate with branch managers and marketing to support the planning and review process
• Provide mentorship to less experienced underwriters

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s preferred, preferably in insurance or business administration
• Five years experience in commercial lines underwriting
• Insurance designations; CPCU preferred
• Ability to work with others and independently
• Demonstrated leadership qualities
